Plenary Theme: Navigating Opportunities for Implementation

Dr. Thackeray is an Assistant Professor at the University of Utah with appointments in Physical Therapy and Population Health. She has used patient reported outcomes as a clinician and researcher for over 20 years. As a clinician, she supported the development of a patient-reported outcomes system to support clinical decisions and patient-centered treatment planning. After hiring on as faculty at the University of Utah, Dr. Thackeray led the implementation of PROMIS measures in outpatient rehabilitation at UHealth. Through funding from the NIH, PCORI, and AHRQ, Dr. Thackeray has examined clinician and patient perspectives on the use of patient-reported outcomes, identified methods for improving implementation, and developed a clinician-facing patient-reported outcomes dashboard. Her current work focuses on using PROMIS measures to guide treatment decisions and engaging patients in the interpretation of their PROMIS scores.
