Talk Title: PROMs in Surgical Practice: Should We Focus on the Disease? Or the Patients?
Dr. Cali Johnson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Utah. As the co-director of the aortic program, she focuses her clinical work on complex endovascular treatment of aortic aneurysms and dissections. She studies the intersections of vascular surgery, frailty, cognitive decline, and quality of life, through mixed-methods research, mobile assessments, and PROMs. She is the site PI for a number of clinical trials and has received early career development awards through the NIH/NIA, AHA, and the University of Utah Center on Aging. During general surgery training at the University of Southern California, Dr. Johnson pursued a Surgical Education Research Fellowship through the Association for Surgical Education and received a Doctorate in Education from the University of Southern California. She completed her vascular fellowship through an Early Specialization Program at University of Southern California.
